“Armenia and Azerbaijan jointly nominated Trump for the Nobel Prize at my initiative”: Aliyev

Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, wrote on his page on the social network X that Yerevan and Baku, at his initiative, had jointly nominated Donald Trump, President of the United States, for the Nobel Peace Prize “in recognition of his contribution to the peace process.”

“President Donald Trump played a historic role in advancing peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the Washington peace summit that he hosted on August 8, 2025.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the peace process, Azerbaijan and Armenia, at my initiative, have jointly nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

We sincerely hope that President Trump’s historic efforts to establish lasting peace in our region will receive due recognition when the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded this year,” the post says.
