The feature-length documentary “Genocide 2.0: Ethnic cleansing in Artsakh,” created by four-time Emmy Award winner and director Bared Maronian, has won the Best Social Awareness Documentary category at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival (CDFF).

The film documents in detail the tragic events in Artsakh: the 10-month blockade and the subsequent military invasion in September 2023, which led to the forced exodus of more than 120,000 indigenous Armenians from their historic lands.

The film is intended as the final part of Bared Maronian’s monumental cinematic trilogy about the fate of the Armenian people. The director’s previous films, “Orphans of the Genocide” and “Women of 1915,” achieved great international success and were broadcast on the American channel PBS.

The prestigious international Chagrin Documentary Film Festival took place from October 6 to 11 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA.
