Robert Kocharyan, Armenia’s second president, is a political and personal opponent of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Artur Khachatryan, a member of parliament from the Armenia faction, said at a press conference. He added that the criminal cases against Kocharyan were initiated for political reasons.
According to him, the preventive measures chosen against the second president are disproportionate, and the charges brought are often devoid of logic.
“The preventive measures are disproportionate, and the charges brought are often devoid of any logic, but the underlying reason, of course, is political,” Khachatryan said.
