Iran MFA warns Armenia against presence of foreign forces in South Caucasus

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a telephone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Iran MFA announced on X (formerly Twitter).

Commenting on the Armenia-US joint military exercises, Amir-Abdollahian called the presence of foreign forces “the cause of the complication of the situation in the region.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister also stressed that the differences between the countries of the South Caucasus should be settled with the participation of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Russia and Turkiye.

To remind, the joint military exercises Eagle Partner 2023 with the United States are held on the territory of Armenia from September 11 to 20.
