Iran and Azerbaijan discuss peace in region and ‘3+3’ format

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Mehdi Safari and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov discussed the need for permanent peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, Mehr reported.

The officials emphasized the rejection of foreign interference in regional problems, as well as the need for a constructive role of the region’s countries within regional initiatives such as the 3+3 format (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Turkiye).

The parties exchanged views on the implementation of the North-South transport corridor and joint economic programs. Consular issues were discussed as well.
