Kremlin expects Armenia to continue to work in CSTO

The Kremlin regrets that Armenia will not participate at a high level in the CSTO meeting in Minsk, Belarus, and hopes that Yerevan will continue to work within the organization, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists, RIA Novosti reported.
“Indeed, we can express regret that Armenia will not participate at a high level in this summit tomorrow. We hope that there will be participation at the working, expert level. And of course, we hope that Armenia will continue its work as part of the organization,” he said.
As reported earlier, Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan will not attend the CSTO meeting in Minsk.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in a phone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Aleinik, also said that he would not be able to participate in the joint meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers of Defense and the Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.
