Karen Karapetyan, found dead in combat position, was from Voskevaz village

Contract serviceman Karen Karapetyan, 24, who was found shot dead in a combat position, was from the village of Voskevaz in Armenia’s Aragatsotn region.

“Karen was the eldest son in the family, he had one brother. He was a good young man. He graduated from a military university and was a lieutenant by rank,” Yervand Hambardzumyan, head of the Voskevaz community, told 24News.

As reported earlier, at around 6:20 a.m. on Tuesday, contract soldier Karen Karapetyan’s dead body with a gunshot wound was found in a combat position of a guard station of a military unit of Armenia. An investigation is underway to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
