Putin wins Russian presidential election with more than 87.33 percent of votes

Russia’s incumbent president Vladimir Putin has gained 87.33% of votes in the presidential election with 99.36% of ballots counted, the Central Election Commission (CEC) reports.
According to the CEC, Putin has secured 74.2 million votes. Russia’s Communist Party candidate Nikolay Kharitonov is second with 4.31% (3.7 million votes).
New People candidate Vladislav Davankov is third with 3.79% (3.2 million votes), followed by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky with 3.19% (2.7 million votes).
