Samvel Mkrtchyan wins boxing championship in Russia

The Ural Federal District Boxing Championship among 15-16-year-old boys was held in Magnitogorsk, Russia, on March 11–17.

Armenian boxer Samvel Mkrtchyan, 15, not only became the best in the ring but also fulfilled the standards for a candidate for master of sports.

“I had a tough competition, but I was not intimidated at all. I was confident in my victory,” he said.

Samvel is now preparing for the Russian championship.
