It is very important to look at history, at the past to prevent tragedies in the future, Jeanne Barseghian, mayor of the French city of Strasbourg, told Alpha News when asked what the collective West should do to prevent a new genocide.
Barseghian attended the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day ceremony in the city center on April 24.
“I believe Europe has a great responsibility to prevent crimes against humanity and genocides. Europe must take a strong political stance,” she said.
