Road through Verkhny Lars checkpoint open for cars and buses and closed for heavy trucks

The road from Georgia to Russia through the Verkhny Lars checkpoint has been opened for passenger cars, Sergey Menyailo, the head of the Republic of North Ossetia, said on Telegram.

“The situation at the Verkhny Lars checkpoint by this hour is as follows: all lanes work for passenger cars across the state border. The movement of heavy vehicles has been suspended. In addition, we shut off heavy trucks on the approaches to the republic. I talked to the Interior Minister of North Ossetia, the number of traffic police patrol cars on the road section from Vladikavkaz to Verkhny Lars will be increased,” Menyailo said.
