11 Strong Armenia party members taken to unknown location: lawyer

Following searches in Artashat, 11 members of the Strong Armenia party were taken away to an unknown location. This was reported to journalists by lawyer Yura Ivanyan. According to him, searches were carried out at all of the city’s party offices in the morning, after which around 11 people were removed, though their status, destination, and the reasons behind it remain unknown.

“We have filed all the necessary statements and documents to take part in the investigative proceedings alongside our clients, but we are receiving no information whatsoever,” he said.

The lawyer stressed that the right to legal representation has already been violated, adding: “I don’t know how one can speak of fair justice given such a repressive approach.”

When asked why he was not being allowed to meet with those detained, Ivanyan said that the investigating authorities were providing no explanation.
