Artak Beglaryan, former State Minister of Artsakh, said during a protest outside the Armenian government building that 1,254 letters from various countries around the world, addressed to Armenian prisoners held in Baku, will be handed over to the Armenian cabinet, in the hope that the authorities will deliver them to the recipients.
The letters were collected on the initiative of Veronika Zonabend, wife of Ruben Vardanyan.
The plan was for a group of women, including relatives of the prisoners, to visit the Armenians held in Baku. However, according to Beglaryan, Azerbaijan did not respond to the initiative, and the Armenian government “did not provide proper practical support.”
According to him, the letters were sent by Armenians and foreigners from different countries and are exclusively humanitarian and hopeful in nature.
