The RA government spent about 290 million drams on purchasing branded gifts. The contracts contain no product specifications, so I carried out a small market analysis. This was stated in the National Assembly by Liana Manukyan, a lawmaker from the Strong Armenia faction.

According to her, the cabinet purchased 16,500 thermoses at 7,800 drams each, while the price of quality thermoses that she looked into on the market ranged from 2,000 to 3,500 drams. The lawmaker noted that even if an additional 1,000 drams had been spent on printing the logo, the cost of one thermos would have been 4,500 drams at most.

“Without being a procurement specialist and having spent just one day, I managed to save 84 million 984 thousand 600 drams in this contract,” Manukyan said, adding that, in her opinion, there are other items in the contracts that make no sense at all.
