9,346 forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians granted Armenian citizenship

A total of 9,346 forcibly displaced Armenians from Artsakh have been granted citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan announced on Thursday.

According to the minister, 10,961 applications have been submitted to date. Approximately 4,400 children received citizenship automatically, based on that of their parents.

The applications submitted by displaced individuals from Artsakh are being processed in an accelerated manner, typically within a one-month timeframe, she added.
