Aliyev credits US efforts for peace agreement with Armenia

The trilateral joint declaration signed in Washington and the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations with Armenia are the result of consistent peacemaking efforts by the American side. This was stated by Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, in a congratulatory message to US President Donald Trump on the occasion of his 80th birthday, posted on social media platform X.

“The trilateral joint declaration signed in Washington in your presence, as well as the initialing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations with Armenia, are the result of your consistent efforts to build peace,” he noted.

In addition, Aliyev expressed confidence that the two countries’ joint work on the peace agenda would continue.
