Aliyev stated that the UN played no role in implementing the resolutions on Karabakh

The United Nations played no role in implementing the UN Security Council resolutions on Karabakh, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting in the “SCO+” format within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek.

“The four resolutions of the UN Security Council adopted in 1993 (regarding the Armenian‑Azerbaijani conflict — ed.) were implemented three years ago (in the autumn of 2023, Azerbaijan fully restored its territorial integrity by force of arms, after which more than 100,000 residents left Karabakh — ed.)… Unfortunately, the UN played no role in implementing these resolutions. Azerbaijan itself fully restored its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
