Aliyev’s package primarily concerns amendments to Armenia’s Constitution: Beniamin Matevosyan

There is a clearly formulated “Aliyev package”, that is, demands coming from Azerbaijan, which primarily concern constitutional changes. This is what Beniamin Matevosyan, political scientist, said during a discussion on “Domestic political developments in Armenia” at the Alpha Media Centre.

According to him, Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statements, Prime Minister, should also be viewed in the context of the demands put forward by Azerbaijan.

Matevosyan also touched on the educational process in schools, noting that his assessments could lead to harsh conclusions about the authorities’ governing methods, but, in his view, the Armenian authorities are also trying to establish control over the topics discussed in schools.

“Pashinyan is trying not only to control the judges but also to regulate what can and cannot be discussed in schools, so that their approaches don’t collapse one day,” he noted.
