Alpha News survey on the credibility of the Armenian parliamentary election results

Alpha News conducted a survey between June 8–10 among the adult population of the Republic of Armenia to gauge citizens’ attitudes toward the June 7 parliamentary elections, as well as their views on the credibility of the vote count and the possibility of street protests.

According to the Alpha News survey, the majority of citizens expressed doubts about the impartiality of the vote count and acknowledged the possibility of a public reaction to the election results.

 63% of respondents expressed doubts about the credibility of the vote count, 23% believe it to be accurate, and 14% were undecided.

 Among those who did not vote for the Civil Contract party, 48% said they would consider taking part in rallies and protests against the election results, 30% said they would not, and 22% were undecided.

32% of survey participants believe there will be no protests, 37% believe protests will take place, and 31% were undecided.

The top 3 parties whose supporters are most open to taking part in rallies are: the Armenia bloc — 73.5%, the “Democracy. Law. Discipline” party — 68%, and the Strong Armenia alliance — 63.7%.

Among the expected courses of action from those who reject the election results:

– 15% — will seek to defend their votes through public actions and civic pressure;
– 12% — will seek to defend their votes through existing government bodies and political mechanisms;
– 36% — will use both methods;
– 16% — will take no action;
– 21% — were undecided.

Research method: combined poll (telephone, online and in-person).
