Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said in an interview with Armenpress that any US presence in regions neighboring Iran causes heightened sensitivity and concern in Tehran. He stressed that the Iranian side informs its partners in Yerevan about this directly, commenting on the TRIPP logistics corridor project (“Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity”).
Araghchi noted that Iran maintains regular dialogue with the Armenian authorities and is confident that “Yerevan will not allow steps that threaten the security of the Islamic Republic.”
The foreign minister also recalled recent consultations in Tehran with Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, and stressed the importance of high-level meetings between the leadership of the two countries.
