ARF, Artik and Canadian Dioceses express unconditional support for Catholicos of All Armenians

The ARF Dashnaktsutyun party has expressed its support for the Armenian Apostolic Church amid the country’s authorities’ attacks on the senior clergy. The political force described the rhetoric of the Armenian authorities as anti-national and unconstitutional.

The ARF said that the attempts to discredit the Armenian Church coincided with the efforts of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to protect the interests and rights of Artsakh Armenians. The ARF statement noted that the targeted campaign of the political leadership to belittle the role of the Church serves the interests of the enemy and weakens the collective resilience of the Armenian people, and that the ARF will defend the church against attacks from the authorities by all means.

The Armenian Diocese of Artik has also expressed its support for Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. “‘Anyone who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed’ (Matthew 21:44). The clergy of the Diocese of Artik, represented by His Eminence Bishop Narek Avagyan, along with all the faithful, express their filial support and assistance to the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, elected by the people,” the Diocese said in a statement.

Similarly, the Armenian Diocese of Canada, along with its clergy and faithful, has expressed unconditional support for the Catholicos of All Armenians.
