Yerevan and Baku have entered a new era of peace, and Azerbaijan will continue to make additional efforts to establish lasting peace in the South Caucasus and strengthen peace on the ground in the future, said Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, addressing the diplomatic corps in occupied Stepanakert.
“For Azerbaijan, the conflict is over. We are learning to live under conditions of peace and are moving in that direction,” he said, adding that “peace must mean not only the absence of confrontation, but also the strengthening of trust, restoration, and creation.”
According to Hajiyev, the recent meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan took place “in a constructive atmosphere.” “The sides agreed to continue bilateral engagement to advance the peace agenda, strengthen trust, and develop trade relations and transport connectivity between the two countries.”
