Armenia and Russia are discussing the completion of the Gyumri–Kars railway: Mirzoyan

Armenia is ready to complete the construction of the Gyumri–Kars railway section jointly with Russia. Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, who is currently on leave, said this in a conversation with journalists, noting that dialogue with Russian counterparts is currently underway.

“If we can complete this section together, we will go that route, and if not, we will find another solution. But this issue must be resolved,” Mirzoyan emphasized.

According to him, Armenia has a historic opportunity to become an alternative link in the new West–East freight flow.

“This movement will happen one way or another. We have a historic opportunity to become a key hub. We will not miss this opportunity, it cannot be missed, and therefore the issue must be resolved,” he added.
