Ararat Mirzoyan, Armenia’s Foreign Minister, stated at the “Yerevan Dialogue 2026” international conference that Armenia and Turkey have expressed bilateral readiness to establish diplomatic relations and open their borders.

According to him, an agreement had been reached to open the border in the first stage for citizens of third countries as well as holders of diplomatic passports.

“We have developed an excellent dialogue with Turkey. For example, just yesterday our representatives signed a memorandum on the joint restoration of the historic Ani bridge on the Armenian-Turkish border. Air routes between the countries have been launched, but overall the border remains closed. At the same time, a number of agreements are already being implemented, some are in the preparation stage, and some have yet to be carried out,” he added.
