According to the Indian publication Businessline, at least six countries have expressed interest in the Astra air-to-air missiles, including Armenia and Saudi Arabia.
Sources note that Armenia is at an advanced stage of negotiations with India regarding the possible integration of these missiles onto Cy-30CM fighter jets.
The Astra Mk-1 missile, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and manufactured by Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL), reaches speeds of up to Mach 4.5 and can hit targets at a range of up to 110 km. India has also tested the Mk-2 version with a range of 200–240 km, while the Mk-3 modification, featuring a ramjet engine, is under development and is expected to exceed the 300 km mark.
