Armenia is trying to reorient exports of goods to the EU: Russian Foreign Ministry

Armenia is trying to reorient exports of its goods to the European Union, but the volume of supplies is minimal, contrary to optimistic statements, Mikael Aghasandyan, director of the First CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti in an interview.

“There is certainly an attempt to reorient the export flow of Armenian goods to other markets, in particular to the West,” Aghasandyan said.

At the same time, the department director noted, this attempt does not negate the need to establish effective and systematic work in the republic to ensure product safety.

“The European Union also has sanitary and phytosanitary requirements, which may differ in some respects from ours, and the volume of supplies from Armenia to the EU, despite optimistic statements, is still minimal,” he emphasized.
