Armenia MFA responds to The Times’ publication on migrant deportation deal

The Armenian Foreign Ministry responded to The Times’ publication about the UK’s talks on sending migrants to Armenia.

“Armenia and the UK have a broad agenda of political dialogue. However, there were no substantive or technical talks on the issue raised in the concrete publication (The Times),” Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ani Badalyan told Sputnik Armenia.

On April 15, The Times published an article, citing documents of the British Foreign Office. It said that the UK had started talks with Armenia, Ivory Coast, Costa Rica and Botswana to replicate the Rwanda migrant deportation scheme.
