For Russia-Armenia relations to develop, Yerevan needs constructively minded leadership, and the choice of path belongs to the people of Armenia, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said in response to a question from RIA Novosti.

Medvedev said that Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, has chosen a course toward severing relations with Russia, from which the entire Armenian people and the country’s economy will lose.

“We are ready to continue developing productive, mutually beneficial cooperation and equal partnership with Armenia and its people. But for this, our ally must have constructively minded leadership that wants to be friends with Russia,” the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation said.

“The choice of path remains with the people of Armenia!” he added.
