Armenia takes leading position in number of passengers arriving in Georgia by rail

Armenia has taken a leading position in the number of passengers arriving in Georgia by rail, the National Statistical Service of Georgia reported.

In the third quarter of 2023, the number of international transported passengers amounted to 19.5 thousand, which is 22.9% less than the same indicator of corresponding period of the previous year. 77.5% of the passengers came from Armenia, while 22.5% of passengers left for Armenia.

Over the same period, passenger turnover value increased by 33.0% and amounted to 223.9 million passenger-kilometer.
