MPs from the Strong Armenia faction honored the memory of the victims of the October 27, 1999 terrorist attack in the courtyard of the National Assembly.

According to Narek Karapetyan, head of the faction, Armenia would not be in its current situation today if not for the events of October 27.

“The issue still remains open. We must consistently pursue the ultimate goal: to understand the motives behind why this happened and to understand how it happened,” Karapetyan told journalists.

He said that over the past eight years, the current authorities have had the opportunity to ensure a fair investigation and achieve results.

“I believe these issues are very closely connected to October 27. I do not consider political speculation about this incident acceptable, but solving the crime itself will clarify everything,” Karapetyan noted.
