Today, on December 14, the Armenian Apostolic Church commemorates Sts. Eustratius, Ogsentius, Eugenius, Ovrestes and Mardairus.

Eustratius, Ogsentius, Eugenius, Ovrestes and Mardairus were subjected to persecution and martyred during the reign of the king Dioclethianus.

Despite their Greek names, they were Armenians from Sebastia. Christians were subjected to especially severe torments in the remote districts of the country.

The military commander of the city of Satakh, Lesser Armenia, burned Eustratius on fire because he had called Lisia, who persecuted Christians, a heathen and idolater. Priest Ogsentius, Eugenius, Mardarius, and a soldier named Ovrestes, who had a cross on his neck, were also subjected to severe torments and were martyred.
