The current US administration does not agree with the development of existing conflicts, and there have been changes in the policy of this administration that will also affect the South Caucasus, editor and publicist Vache Brutyan told Alpha News.

“The US administration is trying to regulate relations with Russia not through confrontation, but through mutual understanding. However, what place the South Caucasus will take—or if it will be included at all—is unclear to me. Nevertheless, this rapprochement in Russia-US relations should also cover the Caucasus,” Brutyan said.

According to the publicist, the current Armenian “junta” no longer receives support in the United States.

“I can confidently say that the Armenian ‘junta’ no longer receives the same backing from the United States as before. It continues to receive support from the EU, which, as my friends living in Armenia say, is also at a loss. France, England and Germany say that if Trump has chosen this approach, then they should maintain a traditional course and resolve this issue. All this is just a way to buy time. By the end of the year, Europe’s approach will change, and this means that the situation in the South Caucasus will also change,” Vache Brutyan emphasized.
