Armenian POW fighting for his life in Baku prison: lawyer

Ludvig Mkrtchyan, an Armenian prisoner of war held in a Baku prison, is fighting for his life, lawyer Lusiana Minasyan wrote on X.

According to her, the 56-year-old Mkrtchyan’s white blood cell count is 14.27. “This is almost double the normal level and is accompanied by severe inflammation… Serious heart damage: left ventricular hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction, aortic insufficiency. Recurring headaches, dizziness, chest pain, and high blood pressure, all of this is hidden behind an official report describing his condition as ‘stable.’ This is deliberate medical negligence against a 2020 prisoner of war,” Minasyan wrote.
