Armenian woman Elen Asatryan elected Mayor of Glendale

Elen Asatryan was elected Mayor of Glendale by the results of the City Council elections, the East Area Progressive Democrats (EAPD) announced on Wednesday.

Asatryan was the first female candidate for the City Council to earn the most votes in 2022.
She has now become the first Armenian American woman to serve as mayor of Glendale, California, USA.

“Nothing significant comes easily. This win required teamwork and perseverance. We thank Councilmembers Ardy Kassakhian and outgoing mayor Dan Brotman for doing the right thing,” the EAPD’s post reads.
