The push for a new constitution is linked to the demands of Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, and the opposition’s mission is to prevent the authorities from taking the process to a referendum, Kristine Vardanyan, an MP from the Armenia faction, told journalists in the National Assembly.

“First of all, I would urge Ms. Galyan not to get upset over the fact that they failed in their task and were unable to present the constitutional change as the country’s domestic agenda. They failed in this commitment, and there is no need to get nervous about it. Every citizen of the Republic of Armenia knows that this is happening at Aliyev’s demand,” Vardanyan said.
