Artashes Avagyan, the world champion in Traditional Wushu (Kung fu)

Athletes of the Traditional Wushu Federation of Armenia participated at the World Wushu Championships in Emeishan, China, with the support of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Armenian athletes won 1 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals, the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports reported.

Artashes Avagyan became a champion in Hung Gar style. It should be noted that it is an exceptional achievement in the history of Armenian wushu for 22 years.

Avagyan also won a silver medal. Another Armenian representative Gevorg Yeritsyan won 1 silver and 1 bronze, while Siranush Avagyan became a bronze medalist.
