Artsakh Armenians’ issue must not be turned into a show: Vardevanyan

The main culprit behind the socio-economic problems of our compatriots forcibly deported from Artsakh is the Civil Contract party, said Aram Vardevanyan, Vice Speaker of the National Assembly and lawmaker from the Strong Armenia faction, in a conversation with journalists.

According to him, a closed format was chosen for the discussion on the Artsakh issue, so they were unable to take part.

“Naturally, we have always been and will remain by the side of our brothers and sisters who were subjected to ethnic cleansing and forcibly deported from Artsakh. We were also ready to take part in this discussion, but if it is organized this way, we do not consider it objectively possible. We are doing everything we can to avoid taking part in a show,” Vardevanyan said.

He added that the authorities should not limit themselves to solving individual problems while ignoring the systemic difficulties facing Artsakh Armenians.
