Ashot Minasyan released from custody

Ashot Minasyan (“Ashot Yerkat”), the legendary commander of the Sisakan detachment during the First Artsakh War, has been released from custody by decision of the Court of Appeal.

Mihran Poghosyan, Minasyan’s lawyer, confirmed the information to Sputnik Armenia.

The court had ruled to release Minasyan the day before. He was sentenced in October 2025 to two years in prison on charges of illegal weapons possession.
