Athletes deprived of the opportunity to train: protests near Olympavan continue

A number of Armenian athletes have been deprived of the opportunity to prepare for upcoming world championships and are forced to train outdoors. This was reported to journalists by one of the participants in the protest near the Olympavan sports facility.

According to him, what is happening is personal revenge, and it is children and the future of Armenian sport who are suffering as a result.

“The children were taken out and left on the street. They have nowhere to train, there are no conditions at all, and they need to prepare for the world championship. The state claims to protect the people’s interests, but if you look at it from another angle, it’s clear that the interests of the people and the children are not being protected. They closed Olympavan because of personal problems. What’s the point of that? You came in, did what you needed to do, and left, why keep up these formalities? Why are you keeping it closed?” the protest participant said.
