Authorities are trying to persuade, but their methods will not work: Davit Ghazinyan

The adoption of the “Aliyev constitution” is the main reason behind the Armenian authorities’ pressure, and Azerbaijan has leverage to coerce the Armenian authorities. This view was expressed to journalists by Davit Ghazinyan, an MP from the Strong Armenia faction, commenting on the searches at the homes of Samvel and Narek Karapetyan.

“It is very bad that a hostile foreign state has such leverage. In my view, this is what is pushing the authorities to rush the adoption of the so-called ‘Aliyev constitution’. To make it absolutely clear to the people why we call it ‘Aliyev’s’: this process has been imposed by the head of that state. Key provisions, including the Declaration of Independence, will be removed from the new version, which, in my view, spells the end of our statehood. I am telling them straight to their faces: these methods will not work,” he stressed.
