Azerbaijan ranked among 10 countries for persecution of Christians

Azerbaijan has entered the list of the worst countries for Christian persecution, reports Fox News, citing the International Christian Concern (ICC).

“Both Azerbaijan and Turkiye have made it clear these actions are taken because of a Pan-Turkic ideology that prefers conformity to Islam, with some exception for very specific versions of Christianity,” the ICC report says.

The organization urges the US Congress to recognize Turkiye’s role in committing crimes during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and to support the ECHR in investigating the status of Armenian prisoners of war.

The ICC also calls on the US Commission on International Religious Freedom and the US State Department’s IRF Office to open a line of communication with Artsakh regarding the religious freedom elements of the conflict.

The ICC list includes other countries that persecute Christians, such as Nigeria, North Korea, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Eritrea, Algeria, and Indonesia.
