Azerbaijan reports destruction of combat post near Nerkin Hand village 

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan has reported about the destruction of the Armenian Armed Forces’ combat post near the Armenian village of Nerkin Hand, from where, as Azerbaijan claims, “the Armenian Armed Forces fired on the positions of the Azerbaijani troops, as a result of which an Azerbaijani serviceman was wounded”.

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan announced a “military operation on the border with Armenia”, calling it a “retaliatory operation”.

The Armenian Defense Ministry has not yet commented on the information.

As reported earlier, on February 13, starting at 5:30 a.m. local time, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces discharged fire from small arms towards the Armenian combat positions in the vicinity of Nerkin Hand. The Armenian side has casualties.

The Defense Ministry said it would issue additional statements.
