Body of a 53-year-old man found in pretrial detention facility

A tragic incident occurred in Yerevan on May 16: at around 7:50 a.m., the Erebuni district of the Main Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs received a report about the discovery of a man’s body in a pretrial detention facility on Movses Khorenatsi Street.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational team from the Erebuni Police Department arrived at the scene, led by the local police officer.

A team from the investigation division of the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee also arrived at the scene, led by Roman Mahmudyan, head of the division, and senior investigator Hovsepyan.

Police and investigators established that the deceased was Marat M., a 53-year-old resident of one of the regions. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic medical examiner, no signs of violence were found on the body during the initial examination.

A criminal case has been opened in the investigation division of the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts under the article on “murder” (sudden death).
