Boxer Vanes Martirosyan passes away after prolonged illness

American boxer of Armenian descent Vanes Martirosyan has passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 39 following a two-year battle with skin cancer.

He retired from boxing in 2018 after a knockout loss to Gennady Golovkin. Over the course of his career, he fought 41 bouts, recording 36 wins, one draw, and four losses (to Golovkin, Jermell Charlo, Erislandy Lara, and Demetrius Andrade).
