By electing Hayk Konjoryan, Civil Contract shares full responsibility: Ishkhan Saghatelyan

By electing Hayk Konjoryan as deputy speaker of parliament, “Civil Contract” shares full responsibility for the recent scandals surrounding him. This was stated to journalists at the National Assembly by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, an MP from the “Armenia” faction and a member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Supreme Body.

“If all this had happened to a relative of one of the opposition figures, he would, at the very least, already be under arrest right now. But the authorities are trying to protect themselves and hush up the case,” Saghatelyan noted, commenting on the fight involving Konjoryan’s brother.

At the same time, the MP emphasized that, broadly speaking, it makes no real difference who becomes deputy speaker of the National Assembly, since the country faces far more serious and pressing issues.

“There’s a clear process underway: the authorities are trying to divert attention from the main and most important, deep-rooted political issues by focusing on personal matters. But there are far bigger problems that need to be the focus,” Saghatelyan said.
