On September 3, as part of the celebration of the 655th anniversary of the founding of the Archdiocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Poland, an ecumenical prayer was held in the Wawel Cathedral of Kraków, with Metropolitan Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski, Bishop Markos Hovhannisian and Pontifical Legate of the Western Europe and Representative of the Armenian Church to the Holy See Archbishop Khajag Barsamian participating, orer.eu reported.

Addressing the audience, Barsamian said that the presence of Armenians in Poland has a long history dating back almost 800 years.

“During this ceremony, we pray for Poland and Armenia, as well as for world peace. May the peace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ be with us all, and may He inspire and guide world leaders to bring peace between nations and peoples,” he said.

The choir “Psalms” of the Armenian Cathedral of Lviv led by Ani Papikyan performed at the event. The first of the concerts was dedicated to Saint Nerses Shnorali.
