For two weeks now, the chairmanship of the National Assembly has been violating the “Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly” by making out-of-order, time-unlimited comments after speeches by opposition MPs. David Ghazinyan, MP from the “Strong Armenia” faction, said this to journalists in the National Assembly.
“Something unprecedented happened today: while Anna Grigoryan was speaking, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly interrupted her and started talking. I merely asked from my seat whether this complies with the law, to which I was advised to ‘be quiet.’ When I demanded an answer to my question, I was repeatedly reprimanded. I deliberately responded from my seat so as not to be forcibly removed from the chamber,” Ghazinyan noted.
According to the MP, their faction decided to leave the chamber in protest against the abuse of power by the chairmanship.
