Hundreds of protesters gathered outside Spain’s Ministry of Transport following a train disaster, demanding the resignations of Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport, and Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister.

The protesters chanted “Murderers!” and tried to break through a police cordon. Police reportedly used batons, rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowd.

As a reminder, at least 68 people were killed in a collision between two passenger trains in the Spanish province of Toledo (autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha). The Spanish authorities declared three days of national mourning for those killed in the train disaster.
