As part of the 48th Navasartian Games, competitions organized by “Hrashq” have kicked off at the Homenetmen Glendale Ararat Chapter.
“Hrashq” is a program designed for athletes with special needs, offering participants the opportunity to unlock their full potential. With a uniquely tailored coaching system adapted to each child’s individual needs, the program inspires everyone by helping young athletes develop skills and confidence.
“We currently have 67 active athletes, aged 5 to 55, and 125 coach-volunteers—without whom this program wouldn’t be possible,” said Katrin Matavoosian, the program’s secretary, in an interview with Alpha News.
David Beard, the program’s athletic director, highlighted that every athlete has a personal coach.
“Winners of first, second, and third places will also receive a participation medal—for simply joining us. Our athletes are amazing. It’s been a real pleasure working here at Hrashq,” the coach said.
The mission of “Hrashq” is to provide participants with opportunities for socialization and inclusion while actively addressing challenges related to disabilities.
