Dates of presidential elections in Russia and Azerbaijan announced

The Federation Council of Russia has scheduled presidential elections in the country for March 17, 2024. The chamber unanimously approved the decision, RIA Novosti reports, having the text of the document at its disposal.

“The election of the President of the Russian Federation is scheduled for March 17, 2024. The decision shall enter into force from the date of its official publication,” the document says.

Baku has also decided on the date of the snap elections. The presidential elections of Azerbaijan will be held on February 7, 2024, whereas, according to the plan, they were supposed to be held in 2025.
